Donna Raines Glass grew out of my passion for horses, dogs, artwork and a desire to stay involved in the horse world. I started my riding career with trainer, Mickey Way, in Rochester, NY. I’ve loved working as a horse-show mom, groom, and braider at New York Hunter/Jumper shows and events for my daughter, Tory. The current dog in my life, Sobe, is a delightfully active Border Terrier.
I stay actively involved in the horse world as an equine artist. Of all the media I work in I am best known for my glass painting. My self-taught painting technique has taken me eight years to develop by trial and error. My glass pieces have vibrant translucent color and intricate designs. My custom pictorial pieces are often used to celebrate a retirement, anniversary or special occasion. Donna Raines Glass has been featured as trophies at New York State Breeders Show, Walnut Hill Carriage Show, Twelve Oaks & Classic Oaks Horse Shows, Caves Farm and other equine events throughout the Northeast. I am currently a vendor at the Equine Affaire, Springfield, MA, & Columbus, OH, the Stuart Horse Trials, the Genesee Valley Hunt Steeple Chase and Western NY Dressage Show, Geneseo, NY.
I am also an avid seamstress. I have sewn many custom pieces worn by my daughter and her horses. My newest venture, Ribbon Rehab has combined my sewing skills and the horse show world. A surplus of competition ribbons proved to be a perfect match for my skills. I created many memorable hand-sewn pieces from treasured ribbons. Rather than selling completed items, Ribbon Rehab is a set of directions to teach others to make their own ribbon pieces.
